Roles and Responsibilities

The Steering Group

The steering group is the driving force behind NCVYS, supporting the development of the organisation. Members of the steering group represent NCVYS on a number of boards at local, regional and national level. The steering group aims to meet up every 6 - 8 weeks.

Work with other partners

NCVYS chairs the 0-19 Thematic Partnership that shares information and best practice with organisations who work across the voluntary and statutory sectors. This group meets quarterly.

Working across Northamptonshire

As Northamptonshire moves towards integrated working in local areas it is imperative that NCVYS is represented at this local level. Area Champions represent NCVYS on boards and groups at district and borough level, bringing information back to the Thematic Partnership and preparing short reports for the e:bulletin. This role is vital in keeping local members up-to-date and informed about what is happening for children and young people in their area, raising the profile of NCVYS and their own organisation. Training to be a representative is available to Area Champions if required.

Providing Information

NCVYS relies on the sharing of robust, good quality information provided by its members about the work they do with children and young people. It is important that members get involved with this process as the information collected will help to strengthen our position and voice by illustrating the complexity and diversity of the sector.
